ALBANO: PERFUME: LE LABO
Today marks my first collaboration with my dear friend Albano. He’s a very talented and accomplished architect, interior designer and furniture designer. His work speaks for itself: detail oriented, holistic and elegant design. His taste level is probably the most refined i’ve ever seen.
Based in Singapore, Albano has a love affair with Paris, London and Antwerp, visiting every museum, designer store, bookstore (and bakery) he can. So i’m more than happy to have him part of Monsieur Jerome. He’ll be presenting his favorite products every now and then.
Hope you’ll enjoy it.

I discovered Le Labo whilst with a dear friend who lives in LA – we stopped by their store one day there and i was immediately taken by their unusual and almost mystical scents presented in an almost laboratory setting. After finally selecting your fragrance of choice from the collection it is then mixed by the attendant or ‘chemist’ specifically for the user – your name printed onto the label. rather a sweet touch. No?
Two scents really grabbed me there. One, their VETIVER 46, a most beautiful warm vetiver with hints of cedar wood and pepper, and then their magical ROSE 31. Of course who could imagine a cologne that men could use that has it’s base in the rose? This is a wondrous blend of the rose flower with warm shadows of spices such as cumin and cedar wood and i believe, amber. It’s a cologne that works in the tropical warmth, where i live, and in the cold of Europe, where i often travel to.
There is nothing more beautiful than something that is almost unexplainable, or hidden. Hidden in the shadows.
