It’s not really clear why I waited so long to feature another time Na Di’s work and her whimsical universe but all I can say and see is how her collections have grown and got even visually powerful. Far from her now the first seasons and her cool kid/St Martins postgraduate periods with sheer fabrics and quirky patterns. Fall Winter 17 showcases a certain maturity balancing perfectly baroque designs, classic geometric patterns and a more conventional tailored silhouette. I can’t help but also think of MSGM’s first collection with these extravagant mix and match. Na Di went also quite intensely mental playing with classic embroideries, printed patterns, knitwear, denim, and wool pieces blurring again the lines between adulthood and teenage years.
