I’ve met Alex a couple weeks ago in SoHo. He was wearing a beautiful Versace inspired printed shirt. I photographed him and we started talking about vintage, streetwear and the brand he’s designing with his friend Will called XXBC (“twenty b.c.”).
Alex and Will have both a passion for vintage printed fabrics, regardless where their origins and their primary functions. They buy yards of fabrics, for most of the them the last ones, and customize sweatshirts. They want to create a different kind of menswear. Every piece is unique, whether it’s the way it designed or the fabric they’re using offering a chance for everyone to really express his own personality and feature a piece of art.
I really love their work. Their choices of fabrics are smart, bold and fun, using classic american patterns but also more ethic/graphic motifs. The quality is excellent (both the vintage fabric and the sweartshirt) and the construction impeccable. They are selling them on their website for now (price range from $185/200). They sell out quickly so check it now!
